About The Weekend

The Weekend is a new jazz-infused comedy opera, drawn from the play by Michael Palin and composed by Scott Stroman with words by Tamsin Collison. It turns on Stephen, a disaffected retiree whose calm weekend is invaded by his daughter's boisterous family (complete with dog), disrupted by revelations about his best friend, and self-sabotaged at an unwanted cocktail party featuring a surprise visitor. Loyal wife Ginny manages valiantly until things come to a head....

The Weekend  was H.O.T.'s 8th production and 4th new stage works by Stroman, after the musical Fever Pitch the Opera, As You Like It,  and youth theatre piece Fables
