New Patron: Edward Gardner

We are so delighted that Edward Gardner has agreed to become our new Patron.  Here are his thoughts about taking on this role:

" I first got involved in HOT through my passionate friend and neighbour, Greg Klerkx - he invited me to a performance in Highbury, and I was bowled over by the sense of community, passion and collective brilliance.

I have seen the recorded version of 'The Weekend' - Adrian [Thompson] is a long-standing colleague of mine, and it was great to see him in this context!  It was great to see him in this context!  It was beautifully filmed and Scott's skill and fantasy - and humour! -  came through it all.

Social distancing has been so hard for performers.  But I think there's a new skill set being learnt and having to take responsibility individually, as well as trying to find a homogenous feel together....we'll all benefit from that when we come together.

I'm so excited to be coming back to London with the LPO - they're a world-class orchestra, and fabulously intrepid with their music-making and programming. "
